How to Define Love

Love is an emotion that cannot be purchased or earned, as is the case with orgasms. It comes with its own time and grace. There are no rules for love. We cannot turn it on or off as we wish. We cannot mimic it or insinuate it. We must let it happen on its own terms. But we may try to get a bit closer to it, hoping that our feelings will be reciprocated in a similar way.

Love comes in several forms and has many characteristics. Some people have more of one type than another, while others have a mixture of both. Psychologists have identified three general types of love – pragma, erotic, and agape. Mania is the most intense and requires the most self-sacrificing actions from the partner, while pragma is rational and practical in relationships. In both cases, the love is mutual, but often not reciprocated.

There are many ways to define love. There are erotic, storge, and platonic. Erotic love focuses on physical attraction, intense intimacy, and sexual intercourse. It is considered to be the most immature type of love and involves frequent emotional distance and game-playing. Those who practice this type of love are unlikely to make a commitment and are often comfortable ending relationships. Then there is compassionate love, which focuses on mutual respect and trust and is the most mature form of love.

Erotic love is intense sexual attraction, accompanied by no commitment. These types of relationships usually start out as a fling, but may later develop into a deeper love. While passionate love has intense feelings of desire, it is often characterized by impatience, neediness, and a need for physical closeness. In addition to the physical aspects, storge love is also associated with a deeper, more emotional commitment. Hence, it is more likely to last.

Erotic love is an expression of intense attraction without commitment. It often happens early in a relationship. After a while, erotic love may develop into a deeper form of love. The two types of love are not mutually exclusive, though there is a level of mutual respect in these relationships. A romantic relationship is considered monogamous if both partners are ambivalent and are committed to each other. If a couple doesn’t feel that they share the same ideals, then they are not compatible.

There are different kinds of love. Infatuation, or passionate love, is characterized by intense attraction and sexuality without any commitment. It is often a short-term relationship and can be overly passionate in the end. It is a great feeling for both partners, but it is a very personal one, and requires a commitment from both parties. And unlike infatuation, erotic love is not a long-term relationship.
